The Middle School Yearbook class teamed up with the Middle School Communications & Publishing class for this guest blog post. They are quite the journalistic force!

As the newness of “back to school”  slips away, we find ourselves in Fall… a season that brings change, color and is full of activities and fun here at PAES.

Beautiful colors are all around and leaves are everywhere… during Fall leaves trickle to the ground in red, orange, yellow and green. The trees around the school fields and playground are changing color-many of our leaves are turning yellow. The warm air has chilled, the harvest moon has risen… fall is here!

Fall decorations have gone up around the school… students are making fall pictures and creations that are put up on the bulletin boards outside their classrooms.  Lots of the decorations and projects include pumpkins. Fall is just a great time around our school.

Speaking of pumpkins… some of the lower grade kids go on fun-filled field trips to pumpkin patches. For 8th graders it’s been awhile since they’ve gone on a pumpkin patch field trip, but many of them remember how those trips were a highlight of the beginning of the school year. The preschoolers get to go to a little patch of pumpkins Mr. Sulzle has planted on campus. Pumpkins are a huge part of fall at PAES.

One big change that is new to PAES this Fall is the 7th/8th grade split in Middle School. This year there are two classes with a mix of both 7th graders and 8th graders instead of one 7th grade class and one 8th grade class.

Volleyball and soccer are the two Fall sports at PAES. Our volleyball team has enjoyed a fun season and are 3/10. Our soccer team was undefeated and is now off to the semifinals. Let’s go Panthers!!! #pantherpride

Outdoor school is a 6th grade tradition and this year’s class had an adventure-filled trip! They went to Big Lake Youth Camp. Some of the highlights include: playing games, going on a night hike, enjoying delicious food, worship and singing, waking up to 7 inches of snow and having snowball fights.

Lots of events fill up the school calendar this time of year… a big favorite is the PAES Harvest Festival. This is a fun family night where the school hosts games, prizes and food. This year the Harvest Festival is on November 18th. Be sure to check the school calendar to stay up-to-date on all that’s happening. In addition to the Harvest Festival we have a lot going on… the Chinook Book Fundraiser, parent/teacher conferences, Veterans’ Day and Thanksgiving break to name a few.

Happy Fall everyone!!!
