Our Family Packs made comfort blankets to share in our community. Middle school students worked alongside retired teaching staff who volunteered time and helped the students follow patterns and cut fabric. The students then helped lead their young family pack members in assembling the blankets.
Each student at PAES, Kindergarten through 8th, helped make these blankets. They also made cards – writing messages that included art, encouraging words and Bible verses – to gift with each blanket.
PAES students and staff delivered the blankets to the Gresham Police Department [who recognized us from our Gratitude deliveries, see November’s Attitudes of Gratitude blog], the Gresham Fire Department and Our Father’s House. Our Father’s House is a local, non-profit family shelter.
The first responders and shelter staff now have extra comfort to offer anyone needing support in times of crisis. We hope this act of love and service helps our community feel safe and cared for.
